WHS COURSES 2021

Approved by Comcare on

OSHA offers a wide range of WHS programs for organisations in the Comcare jurisdiction.
Courses range from 2-hour Senior Management briefings, to Comcare-Approved courses (both Initial 5-day and 1-day Refresher WHS Training Courses).

We also offer courses for Health & Safety Committees and WHS briefings for senior managers and directors.
'MAKING WHS MY BUSINESS' is our New Generation ‘Safety Leadership’ & Safe Behaviours’ that has been conducted in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Malaysia, Australia and Europe.
Courses are led by highly experienced trainers/ consultants who also have provided practical WHS assistance to many organisations and who can 'practice what we preach'!

We have approval from Comcare to conduct our approved WHS programs without the normal face-to-face requirements. (For public courses, we use either the new (security-upgraded) Zoom platform to conduct these courses. For in-house courses conducted for specific organisations, we can conduct the course using the virtual conferencing platform preferred by the client.)

Comcare says this is only a temporary arrangement due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that approved delivery strategies and AQF competency requirements must continue to be met.

In accordance with sec. 72 of the WHS Act, HSRs are able to choose the course they wish to attend in consultation with their employer, including whether they participate in connected, real time delivery or face-to-face learning when it resumes after the COVID-19 period.
If a participant does not have the appropriate training resources, IT infrastructure and ergonomic work station prior to training commencing, we advise participants to defer attendance until face-to-face training is available.
HSRs need to be comfortable with their learning environment and participate in HSR training away from any workplace distractions
HSRs should not be expected to complete their usual workplace duties before or after they have attended training.

WHS for MANAGERS & SUPERVISORS

A 2 -day workshop to provide managers, supervisors and other decision makers with the background, concepts and overview necessary to enable them to manage workplace health and safety issues in their organisation.
This program recognises the rapidly changing nature of work-related risks and hazards and the changing nature, culture and business goals of the client organisation.

DEVELOPING WHS LEADERS AND A SAFETY CULTURE

An exciting new concept in safety leadership and developing work safety cultures – exploring principles of safety, culture and risk, understanding why some people take risks, the importance of emotional intelligence and developing skills for effective interventions.

The program aims to develop leadership skills, using WHS as the "window to the organisation".
