This interactive 1-day workshop, approved by WorkSafe Victoria, will help HSRs to understand and exercise their powers effectively.
The training will provide HSRs with the confidence, skills and knowledge to represent their co-workers (i.e. DWG), particularly when raising health and safety concerns in relation to work-related stress and/or work-related violence.
*Please Note: WorkSafe approval to conduct this course via Zoom is only until face-to-face training can resume.
Not sure if OHS training will work on Zoom? Here is what our participants have said:
Work-related stress factors, also known as psychosocial hazards, are anything in the management or design of work that increases the risk of work-related stress, which can lead to physical injury, mental injury or even both at the same time.
Work‐related violence involves any incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work. The definition covers a broad range of actions and behaviours that can create a risk to the health and safety of employees. It includes behaviour often described as acting out, challenging behaviour and behaviours of concern
HSRs and Deputy HSRs have an entitlement to this training. Section 67 of the Vic OHS Act provides for HSRs (and Deputy HSRs) to choose their course in consultation with their employer. (Please note: WSV require each participant should complete the enrolment form.)
Attendance at all sessions is required in order to be awarded a Certificate of Attendance. (As the course is not competency based, there is no formal assessment.)
Note: HSRs are entitled to attend a 'Health & Safety Representative INITIAL OHS Training Course' .
